GOSPEL IN LIFE & MINISTRY (TWO PART SESSION, JAPANESE) SEIMA AOYAGI |
This is an introduction to Serge’s Sonship curriculum (also presented at CPI’s Grace Week seminars that are held during the year). The curriculum is based on the conviction that we can’t take the message of the gospel to others without continually applying it to our own hearts. We will spend the week soaking our hearts in the life-changing Gospel message and considering practical ways of living it out. Bring your whole ministry team to help develop a Gospel-centered culture for your team. Please join us! |
Seima serves as lead pastor of Grace Harbor Church in Toyosu. After serving in student evangelism for seven years in Chiba where he was born and raised, Seima moved to the USA where he interned at a church in San Diego after graduating from Covenant Theological Seminary with a Masters in Divinity. The family returned to Japan in 2011 where he served as the Director of the Disaster Relief Support Ministry for the Grace City Church for one year before beginning to be involved in church-planting. He currently lives in Toyosu with his wife and has four children.

They have first-hand experience in direct church planting in the US and Japan and now lead a new team that embraces a facilitative model of church planting. LEADERSHIP (ENGLISH) DAN IVERSON, CHRIS PAIN
|
Godly, gospel centered, effective, reproducing leaders are desperately needed for the church and other ministries in Japan. We need more missionaries, Japanese pastors, Japanese staff, and lay leaders who also reproduce themselves (II Timothy 2:2). This seminar will focus on growing as leaders ourselves, and also on finding, mobilizing, and developing other leaders who reproduce themselves. As DL Moody said, “Don’t do the work of a thousand men. Put a thousand men to work!” |
Dan has served MTW/JPM for 35 years in Japan. He was the lead church planter and pastor of Oyumino Church (PCJ), a multi-site church in Chiba, where he has served for 28 years. He also served as JPM’s Tokyo Chiba Team Leader for 30 years and JPM Mission Leader for 15 years. Dan and Carol have nine children and 34 grandchildren.
|
Chris Pain came to Japan in 2007 and served in Sapporo partnering with Japanese Churches to reach business people and later serving as OMF’s Hokkaido Director. Since 2017 he has been serving as Field Director for OMF based in Ichikawa, Chiba and is part of a small church plant there. Psalm 78:72 inspires him when thinking about leadership – we need leaders with an upright heart and skillful hands. He is married to Kesia and they have 4 children.

Let’s consider together what it looks like to evangelize in our community. Topics will include “side door” evangelism, discipleship, making relationships, small groups. |
